Projects & Side Work
- Designed, built, and operate an end-to-end production cloud platform offering VPS, game servers, and web hosting on owner-operated colocated hardware with a /27 of public IPv4 delegated via BGP
- Built customer portal as a Next.js 14 + Prisma + PostgreSQL application with multi-domain middleware routing, NextAuth with TOTP 2FA and recovery codes, and ~95 API endpoints including a public Bearer-token REST API
- Integrated live Stripe billing: metered per-resource VPS subscriptions, fixed tiers for games and web hosting, promo codes, $10 signup credit via Stripe setup mode, automated dunning, and idempotent webhook-driven order finalization
- Developed
mkvm provisioning pipeline: KVM + libvirt + cloud-init across 9 Linux distros, dual-stack IPv4/IPv6, per-VM bandwidth QoS via tc, nftables-based cloud firewalls, snapshots, and virtnbdbackup nightly backups
- Built VPC private networking using isolated Linux bridges on the hypervisor, with hot-attach/detach of NICs on running customer VMs
- Integrated Pterodactyl API for 8-game hosting (Minecraft Java/Bedrock, Rust, Valheim, ARK, CS2, Palworld, Hytale) with custom Cloudflare-API subdomain automation
- Deployed shared web hosting via CloudPanel with automated Let's Encrypt SSL and mailcow-backed email with DKIM/SPF/DMARC
- Shipped a 24-app one-click Docker Compose marketplace (WordPress, Nextcloud, Immich, Vaultwarden, Grafana, etc.) backed by a private Docker Hub pull-through cache
- Built full observability with Prometheus, Grafana, Blackbox probes, libvirt exporter, dual Uptime Kuma (on- and off-site), and a self-hosted ntfy server for mobile push alerts
- Front the control plane via Cloudflare Tunnel so no inbound ports are exposed on the portal
- Technologies: Next.js 14, Prisma, PostgreSQL, Stripe, KVM/libvirt, cloud-init, nftables, tc, Pterodactyl API, CloudPanel, mailcow, Cloudflare Tunnel, Cloudflare API, Prometheus, Grafana, Blackbox, Uptime Kuma, ntfy, nginx, Docker Compose, BGP/IPv6
- Developed custom full-stack Django 5.2 e-commerce platform from scratch for a bladesmithing instruction business
- Implemented PostgreSQL schema design, live Stripe checkout with server-side webhook finalization, atomic inventory via
SELECT FOR UPDATE, and admin-configurable tax/shipping
- Built shopping cart, checkout, and comprehensive order management dashboard with automated email workflows through self-hosted mailcow (order confirmations, USPS tracking, booking confirmations)
- Integrated Calendly API for automated class scheduling across the course catalog
- Hardened with Django security headers (HSTS, secure cookies, SSL redirect), rate-limited auth/contact endpoints, honeypot spam protection, and email verification on signup
- Deployed on the web hosting tier of my own Piedmont Hosting platform with automated SSL and Cloudflare-fronted delivery
